Sue Carver's Story

Sue CarverOne thing is absolutely certain– Susansnaps wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my mom’s sister, my Aunt Susan Carver Smith.

Sue was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at age 14. Despite her disease, she graduated from college, married, and taught grammar school for several years.

Sue was incredibly kind, caring, and fun-loving. She was also strong and courageous, making the impossible look easy as she lived her life by being a loving daughter, sister, wife, and friend.

Sue died at the young age of 28.

My mom was only 24 when she lost her sister, her true best friend. “Sue and I did everything together from creating 60’s bouffants, waiting tables, playing guitar, to eating pie while watching old movies! My sister is my hero… deathly sick or well, Sue always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. Today, I am happy that I can show her how much I miss her and how much she means to me by remembering her through Susansnaps and the Susan Carver Foundation. I know she is smiling down from heaven on my Susan and me!”

Through Susansnaps and the Susan Carver Foundation, her incredible legacy lives on.
